Pet Dentistry in Fairfax Station, VA
At Crosspointe Animal Hospital, we provide comprehensive pet dentistry services to support your pet’s overall health. Dental disease is one of the most common conditions in dogs and cats, and untreated oral infections can lead to serious systemic issues affecting the heart, liver, and kidneys. Routine veterinary dental care plays a vital role in maintaining your pet’s long-term health and quality of life.
“Dentals are my favorite procedure! It’s instant gratification of making the teeth beautiful and knowing that you made your patient so much better!”
– Dr. Burbrink
Advanced Veterinary Dentistry
We offer a full range of veterinary dental services, including professional cleanings, tooth extractions (both baby and adult teeth), oral mass removal, and soft tissue or bone biopsies. All procedures are performed under general anesthesia to ensure your pet’s safety, comfort, and a stress-free experience.
Our anesthesia monitoring protocols meet the same high standards as our surgical procedures, with continuous monitoring and individualized care plans tailored to each patient.
Why Sedation Matters
Sedation allows our team to perform a thorough dental examination and cleaning safely and effectively. It ensures your pet remains comfortable while allowing us to properly assess areas below the gumline, where many dental issues begin. This level of care is essential for accurate diagnosis and complete treatment.
VOHC Accepted Products
To support your pet’s dental health at home, we recommend Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) approved products:
These products are proven to help reduce plaque and tartar buildup and can be an important part of your pet’s daily oral care routine.
What to Expect
When your pet is scheduled for a dental cleaning, it is performed as a full anesthetic procedure. We ask that pets be dropped off in the morning between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Please withhold food after 10 PM the night before, but water is allowed.
Our team will monitor your pet closely throughout the procedure and recovery, and your veterinarian will follow up with detailed findings and aftercare instructions.
