Our staff includes veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionists, and kennel attendants. It takes all of us to take care of your pets.
Dr. Hinn, DVM
Dr. Hinn is a Virginia native and received his DVM degree from the University of Georgia. His special interests include surgery, veterinary dentistry, birds, and providing pet care for exotic animals as well as cats and dogs. Another strong interest that he has developed is that of nutrition and vitamin supplementation. In addition to local and national veterinary associations, he is a member of the Critical Care Society, the American Veterinary Dental Association, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.
Dr. Burbrink, DVM
Dr. Burbrink received her veterinary degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2007. Her special interests include dentistry (a field in which she has taken extensive continuing education courses), soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. Dr. Burbrink is married to her high school sweetheart and has two boys. She enjoys cheering for all the local sports teams, especially the Washington Nationals, and loves anything Star Wars related.
Dr. Prochnow, DVM
Dr. Prochnow is a recent transplant from Illinois – she grew up in the Chicago suburbs and lived in central Illinois until early 2015. After receiving her B.A. from Lawrence University, she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 2012 (Go Illini!). Her professional interests include surgery, orthopedics, and preventative care. Outside of work, she loves training for and racing in triathlons, trying new restaurants, movies, reading and spending time with family and friends. She resides in Alexandria with her beagle, Jasmine.
Dr. Lockhart, DVM
Dr. Laura Lockhart was excited to join the Crosspointe Animal Hospital team in July 2015 after having worked between sister hospitals of Crosspointe for several years. Dr. Lockhart grew up between Ottawa, Ontario and Raleigh, North Carolina. She majored in biology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She then attended North Carolina State University for vet school (Go Pack!). Although she thoroughly enjoys all aspects of general practice, she has a particular interest in preventative/wellness care, ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, and anesthesia. In her spare time, Dr. Lockhart enjoys photography, baking, watching hockey, and exploring the DC area with her Great Pyrenees mix, Layla, who she rescued in 2012. She is also an avid traveler, and plans a trip to visit family and friends any chance she gets.
Dr. Gigrich, DVM
Dr. Gigrich is British and qualified as a veterinarian from Cambridge University Veterinary School in England. She spent a few years working in a mixed practice in Nottingham, England (Robin Hood's home town!) before marrying an American, Jim, and moving to the U.S. Having passed American veterinary exams, she worked in small animal hospitals in Georgia, New York State, and Kansas before moving to Germany for 4 years. After a break for children, she started working at Crosspointe part-time in 2008 and is happy to be back in her chosen profession. She stays constantly busy with work, looking after her 4 energetic boys, and walking her big, yellow lab, Hunter.
Dr. Vida, DVM
Dr. Blake Vida is the newest addition to the Crosspointe Animal Hospital team! Dr. Vida grew up in rural Southbury, Connecticut before moving to the city to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, PA.
Following graduation he returned to Connecticut for two years and worked for a pharmaceutical company. In search of more inspiration, he decided to take the plunge and head to graduate school. He received a Masters of Science in Toxicology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health (Go Blue!). While living in Ann Arbor he decided to volunteer at the local animal shelter and it was there he found his calling. He then spent the next four years at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests include ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, exotic and companion animal medicine.
Outside of work you can find him frequenting various local food carts and participating in recreational sport leagues. He is actively seeking ways enrich his spare time further now that he is no longer living the all-consuming life of a student. He resides in Alexandria.
Practice Manager, CVPM
Rachel has been with Crosspointe Animal Hospital since 2005. She became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) in March of 2015. Rachel enjoys spending time outdoors during the summer and interacting with different types of animals. Some of her favorite memories include swimming with dolphins, feeding a baby tiger, and riding an elephant. Rachel lives at home with her 2 very spoiled cats.
Niza has been with Crosspointe since 2011. Her love for animals has inspired her to pursue her DVM degree from the University of Florida. In her free time, Niza loves to shop, watch movies, and play with her Golden Retriever, Bruno and Lab mix, Brownie.

Diana, AS LVT
Licensed Veterinarian Technician
Diana lives at home with her boyfriend and her dog Dottie, a Maltese/Yorkie/Westie mix. She also had a beloved 16-year-old Bichon whom she recently lost and misses dearly. In her free time, Diana enjoys going to the movies and hopes to one day travel to Paris.
Kimberly Rosenberg, BS, LVT
Licensed Veterinarian Technician
After college, Kimberly attended the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated in December 2013 with an Associates in Specialized Technology Degree-Veterinary Technology.
Kimberly’s interests include animal photography, scrapbooking, bowling, and she is an avid fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams.
Receptionists and Assistants
Karla has been with Crosspointe Animal Hospital since 2005. She lives at home with her 2 children. Karla left her career in accounting to work in a field that brought her more enjoyment. Karla enjoys dancing, getting together with friends, and going to the movies.
Trey has been with Crosspointe since September 2008. He enjoys spending time with his two kids and close family and friends.
Luke joined the Crosspointe team in May of 2013. He loves working with all kinds of animals, but has a passion for cats and fluffy dogs. Luke lives at home with 3 dogs, 5 cockatiels, and his 2 beloved cats, Daoloth and Walden. In his free time, he enjoys playing Magic: The Gathering , reading, and listening to music.
Jordy joined the Crosspointe team in June of 2013. She lives at home with her sister's family, German Shepard Bascha and cat, Tabitha. She is currently a student at George Mason University majoring in Biology. Jordy hopes the knowledge she gains working at Crosspointe will help her to achieve her dream of working at and one day owning her own zoo.
Katie joined the Crosspointe team in October 2013. She loves working with animals, especially when she can assist with their medical care. She hopes to one day become an LVT and is currently enrolled in the Licensed Veterinary Technician program at NOVA. Katie has a soft spot for large breeds of dogs, such as Labs and Shepherds. In her free time, Katie loves watching sports and spending time with her friends and family.
Youngmi joined the Crosspointe team in September 2014. Her love of animals brought her to this field and she ultimately wants to become a veterinarian. Youngmi enjoys reading, knitting and crocheting. Youngmi has a special affection for Welsh Corgis, as this was her first dog, but her love of cats has grown a lot since starting here.
Mariel joined the Crosspointe team in December of 2014. She has 2 dogs at home, Meeko and Mischa, a chihuahua and a minpin. Although her cheery disposition keeps her at the front desk most of the time, she finds a way to sneak back to treatment anytime a tiny, toy dog comes in. Mariel enjoys working with our clients and believes that customer service is the heart of her job.
Paige moved to Virginia from Kentucky in 2012. She has a deep abiding love for animals, especially for cats. Paige has six cats at home; Autumn, Tank, Trapper, Channi and Ranger Darby. She is a cat advocate and her newest addition, Alvin, was adopted from Crosspointe. Paige also has a horse at home. In her spare time, Paige likes to watch movies, spend time with her friends, and coral her rambunctious cluster of kitties.
Andria joined the Crosspointe team in October 2015. She has a Basset Hound named Tiny, who is her pride and joy . Andria's favorite season is the fall, as she loves the colorful leaves, bonfires and getting to wear flannel. She also loves anything caramel flavored. Andria enjoys her work at Crosspointe because she gets to combine her love of animals with her love of working and being around people.
