Vaccines Needed Before Boarding From Your Fairfax Veterinarian

Because pets are in such close proximity when they're boarded in a kennel, it's crucial that they are all current on their vaccines in order to prevent disease from rapidly spreading. At Crosspointe Animal Hospital, we require all the guests at our boarding facility to be up to date on their pet vaccines before they stay with us. This includes basic core vaccines as well as certain non-core vaccinations that prevent diseases most commonly spread during close contact.

Fairfax Station Veterinarian Talks Required Vaccines

Our veterinarian team is dedicated to giving every pet in our care the best treatment possible, and that includes making sure our facilities are safe and healthy. A big part of that safety is making sure pets don't become ill while they're here. Each type of boarded pet needs a different type of vaccines before they stay here. For our dog guests, they'll have to be current on vaccines for:

  • Hepatitis
  • Parvovirus
  • Distemper
  • Leptospirosis
  • Bordetella, or kennel cough

Cats have a different list of requirements. Before you bring your furry feline to stay with us, make sure make an appointment for it to receive vaccines for:

  • Feline herpes
  • Feline calicivirus
  • Feline infectious enteritis
  • Chlamydia
  • Feline leukemia
  • Bordetella

Looking for a Veterinary Office in the Fairfax Station Area?

Most of the vaccines required before boarding your pet are those it will receive during its annual wellness examination. If you don't have a regular veterinary office for your pets, give our office a call to make an appointment. You'll need to have your pet vaccinated a number of weeks before boarding, to make sure the immunity has taken hold, so come see us early. Call our office at (703) 690-6600 to make an appointment today.
